… and straight on the heels of my “I’m overwhelmed” post, I planned out a crazy week for myself. =) it seems that I just can’t say no.

tonight, we had J-Rod over for dinner and cards. Becky (Bethany’s sister) is visiting (we’ve *loved* having her), Becky really needs to have her own space. she took over Bethany’s room. Bethany has been sleeping on a mattress in the living room, and living out of suitcases she took to Canada with her. the suitcases and mattress are massive and take up just about all the free floor space, so we had to do some serious straightening up before Jared arrived.

made some tacos (weren’t great, at ALL), then walked out to find Jared after he got lost in our complex, turns out there are two 4631’s in the same neighborhood, on two different sides of the street. he’d turned left instead of right. =)

we played a card game that Bethany’s family plays all the time – hand and foot – which is similar to Canasta. (btw – I LOVE Canasta. if you want to make me a happy woman, just ask me to play that game, or ask me to teach you that game, or just say the word to me. =) so, we played hand and foot. Jared and I wiped the floor with the Taylor girls. =) beginners’ luck, I’m sure.

Jared talked about his new schedule – he’s getting a master’s in oboe performance – and it sounded like heaven to me… full time musician. tons of ensembles, in each of which he’s the section leader/principle oboe player. a couple of lessons a week, a lot of practice hours a week. a couple of theory credits thrown in there. it’s enough to make my mouth water… I’m drooling now.

why, oh why, I’ve been asking myself, am I not playing?!
