smith-a-thon
so… we had our long anticipated Kevin Smith movie marathon. =) good times. we (JRod, Bethany and I) drove up to Chalupa’s – plenty of folks were already there. we had to pit stop in Anderson for some sloppy joe buns (yes, I was picking up buns again in Anderson) and soda. we got our goods in short order and parked ourselves in the shortest U-Scan line we could find. we chose poorly. had to beat a middle-aged lady to a bloody pulp because she U-Scanned a beach umbrella and couldn’t get it to stand upright in the bag (ignoring, of course, the Meijer employee who was telling her just to put it into her shopping cart)… we had to lay down some smack, then cut some folks in line to get to Chalupa’s close to on time.
watched 4 of the 5 peliculas – Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy were first, of course. by the time those were done, so was everyone but Chalupa, me, Beth and JRod. they (Liz, Elaine, TLoft, Toll, Steve & Rachel) all bailed and we faithful few decided to skip Dogma – we’d all seen it recently. after Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, we girls parted ways from the boys and headed next door to the Elwoods’ pad.
good eats – Chalupa, you make some mean cheese goo and manwiches, but my favorite were the tamales. you have “arrived” in my book.
woke up this morning to Bethany steam-rolling me… grr. she has this awful inability (like David) to fall back to sleep after she wakes up. so, she sat and twiddled her thumbs while I was sleeping, then decided she’d had enough.
David came up for the afternoon – got tired of reading his seminary books for the day (either that or was being nice – I wanted him to come hang with us). he, Rachel and I laid on the floor and talked for a good hour and a half – just chillin’ and listening to the Garden State soundtrack (which rocks). a bigger group of us (Beth, me, Rachel, Steve, Dave, Brent) went out for dinner.
at the end of the day, Brent fixed Bethany’s bike so that we both have one now! that means… exercise!!! I’m pumped. now all I have to do is get home from work/things before dark so we can go out together. oh, and put the bikes back together. they’re still in pieces in Beth’s trunk.
