rehearsal
had band rehearsal last night – a good one. funniest moment yet happened… doubt you’ll get it, but I’ll try to describe anyway.
there’s this song called “tam o’shanter” – can’t remember who by, else I’d see if there’s a recording online somewhere. sorry dudes. anyway, there’s a part where we’re all playing in different keys and the percussion is cracking whips and playing strange sounding instruments, then over it all we hear this “eeeek eeeek eeeek” out of key with it all… it was such a crazy part of the piece, it sounded like it belonged. we (the saxes) had never heard that there before, though, so we looked toward the percussion section… and there was this three-year-old girl, laying on her back, feet and hands in the air, screaming at the top of her lungs as we played. we laughed so hard we couldn’t play for a WHILE.
btw… my last concert is this Sunday night. if any of you wanted to see one of my concerts this year but didn’t get a chance to, here’s your last chance to do it. it’s going to be a good one, imho. the music is fun and there’s a lot of variety. scotch poetry reading, screaming children, etc. =) and it’s free if you tell me you want to go by tomorrow.
