whew
man, are we tired. =) but we’re tired in that good, we’ve-had-a-lot-of-fun kind of way.
Melissa was here for Thanksgiving – it was the best! I was so glad to see her. we didn’t spend any time at all really seriously talking (unless you count the couple of korean grammar lessons), but the time we spent together was very, very refreshing (I thought).
she flew in on Wednesday night and we got back to GC pretty late. we chatted for a while then went to bed. one thing I really like about my sister (among other, more important things) is that she likes to sleep in. she was our guest and we didn’t want to wake her, so, over the holiday, none of us got out of bed before 10 or 10:30 am. =)
on Thursday, we lazed about and played some cards (Mille Bournes!). we ended up at the Aukermans’ house that night for the T-day celebration. it was so neat! there were a lot of people there – all Dave’s mother’s siblings and most of their kids – so we ate at one long table that went from the living room through the kitchen into the back hallway. before we ate, we sang and read some scripture aloud as the blessing, then between dinner and dessert we hung leaves (on which we’d written some of the things we were thankful for) on a small Thanksgiving tree, then after dinner, we sang through a stack of hymns and songs in four part harmony. it seems that these families never come together without music. I like that very much.
the rest of the time we spent together was in playing games, watching movies and hanging out with Shawn. we went to church on Sunday, then lunch and to Borders for a while, then to the airport to drop Melissa off.
we crashed on Sunday night – it was full, but such a great holiday!
Sounds like you guys had a blast! I’m so happy that you got to spend Thanksgiving together, even if I am a little jealous. =)
i had a great time! i was very sad to go back in case you couldnt tell. and 10:30 is only 9:30 my time =)
I’m glad, Mel. I’m really excited to see you again and Christmas – and you, too, LEAH. =)
