I’ve been posting so infrequently because we don’t have a reliable internet connection. Another reason: we’ve been busy!
The latest trip we made was last week – we went to the Great American Brass Band Festival in Kentucky with the Indiana Wind Symphony. It was a gorgeous weekend – cool and sunny despite predictions of heat and storms. We played a few concerts, heard a few more, then packed up and came home. And ate out a lot. =) The highlight for me: our group was selected to be a demonstration group for a march history seminar, and we got to play under a very good conductor/speaker in a great little hall. I haven’t ever had so much fun playing a march – usually they’re groaners because our parts are lame and repetitive, and all marches tend to sound alike. This guy’s talk (therefore, our demonstration) was on making each march distinct and interesting. Very fun.
So, here are a few pictures from the weekend:

An interesting sculpture on the campus.
